Quick Setup Guide:

Download Freedom Desktop setup "FreedomSetup1_1.exe" if you haven't already done so. | ||
|
Install the package on the PC you would like to access from the internet. This PC is called the HOST. |

|
The DESKTRA Freedom Desktop HOST installation process will take around one minute. Windows will need to be rebooted to complete the installation. |
||
|
After rebooting your HOST PC, please use the same user account you have installed the DESKTRA Freedom Desktop setup with to continue the installation process. |
||
|
You will then be promoted with the DESKTRA Freedom Desktop Server Control Panel. A unique ID will be generated when "DESKTRA Freedom Server.exe" runs for the first time. Please add your desired password and click on "Start" button to start the DESKTRA Freedom service. Time to time, for added security you may wish to create a new ID by clicking on "New Desktop ID" button. Press "Hide Control Panel" to send the DESKTRA service to memory. Your Desktop is now ready to accept a remote connection. |

IMPORTANT NOTE:(Please Read this First. Otherwise the DESKTRA session may fail)

When you have finished the setup, you will notice that an executable called SAFE.exe has been copied to your PC Desktop. This is the client software you need to use to connect back to your HOST PC. |

A QUICK LOCAL TEST: Please click and run SAFE.exe on your HOST Desktop. You will be asked to provide an ID and Password. Please provide the ID and Password shown on the "DESKTRA Freedom Server", above and press connect. A window will fade in showing your PC login dialogbox. Please provide the Windows username and password you normally use to logon to your PC, to start a local test of your DESKTRA Freedom Desktop. Note: You MUST have a password set for your Windows user account for remote access to be permitted by DESKTRA. |

After you have finshed testing, you can copy SAFE.exe to the remote Windows machines from which you wish to access to your HOST PC. |

SAFE.exe does not need to be installed. This means that it can be run on any Windows PC directly from a USB stick without installation. You can also download SAFE.exe from www.desktra.com/freedom/safe.exe.Note: When the web browser prompts you to save or run the file, please "save" SAFE.exe to a local drive on your Computer. Then run the client from your local drive by directly clicking on the SAFE.exe blue icon. |

When you run SAFE.exe, the DESKTRA Freedom Desktop Client prompts you for an ID and Password. Please provide the ID and Password shown on your HOST "DESKTRA Freedom Server" and press connect. |

You will be informed that the client is initiating the connection to the remote HOST. The DESKTRA Freedom Desktop Client then displays a new Window showing your remote PC's Desktop logon screen. Please provide the Windows username and password you normally use to logon to your PC, to start working on your Desktop remotely. Note: You MUST have a password set for your Windows user account for remote access to be permitted by DESKTRA. |

When you have finished working with your Remote HOST PC, please just logoff or disconnect using your remote HOST Windows Desktop start menu buttons. Please also remember to exit the DESKTRA Freedom Client executable running on your local PC. |

Please note: When the DESKTRA Freedom client still is running on the local PC, you can reconnect to your remote PC by just clicking on "New Desktop" button without having to retype the DESKTRA Freedom Desktop ID and Password. You are still required to provide your remote HOST PC's Windows user logon credentials. |
